Bus Connects Consultation

This week, I attended a meeting with Fianna Fáil Transport Spokesperson, Robert Troy TD, and the National Transport Authority to discuss Bus Connects.

Most people are aware that Bus Connects includes a redesign of the bus network in Dublin, but there are a lot of other measures involved, such as:

  • New Bus Corridors

  • Simpler Fare Structures

  • Cashless Payments Systems

  • Park & Ride Facilities

  • New Bus Stops and Shelters, and

  • The use of Low Emission Vehicles

Not only will this improve our bus service, but as part of the project there will also be 200kms of cycle tracks or lanes provided.

This is the single biggest cycling infrastructure plan in the history of the State.

The new corriders which go through Dún Laoghaire Rathdown will be published in mid February.

I will keep you posted on any updates on this site, but you can also find out more about Bus Connects here.
